OroraTech takes first place in Samsung for Impact pitch competition
On Thursday, October 22, 2020, Sonja Mayer and Fabia Höhne represented OroraTech’s wildfire solution in the Samsung for Impact pitch competition. They were one of 6 finalists to present in front of a diverse jury ranging from investors to journalists, to entrepreneurs, and had to withstand social and economic requirements.
The time limit for the pitch was 3 minutes and an additional 2 minute Q&A session from the jurors. Sonja and Fabia presented our wildfire solution and how we are changing the way of wildfire detection. Due to Covid-19, the presentation was given virtually and streamed live on the Gründerszene Facebook page.
The top 3 winners received a place in the Samsung accelerator, and OroraTech reserved their spot in the program by winning first place. They will be supported over the next six months by Samsung, the Impact Hub Berlin, and the Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany. “We are very excited as a team to have this opportunity to be advised by experts and mentors to further develop our wildfire solution. A big thank you to everyone involved and giving us the opportunity to present our business model that can help contribute to the European Commission Green Deal,” said Mayer
Congratulations to Sonja and Fabia!

OroraTech is developing a satellite-based system for global and automated forest fire fighting. The solution accelerates, digitizes, and simplifies the process of detecting and monitoring forest fires. By processing data from a constantly growing variety of satellites and supplementing them with their own constellations of nanosatellites, the detection time is greatly reduced.
