OroraTech and German Space Agency Deliver Thermal Data to Researchers & Scientists in Multi-Year Contract

MUNICH (December 19th, 2024) – OroraTech, the global intelligence-as-a-service company leveraging thermal data for a sustainable Earth, announces entering into a multi-year contract with the German Space Agency at DLR, providing land surface temperature data to their network of scientists, research institutions, and other public authorities. Leveraging data collected from their in-orbit FOREST-2 and soon-to-be-launched OTC-P1 satellites, OroraTech makes thermal data available to the German scientific community.

Land surface temperature data  has a number of valuable use cases, including monitoring urban heat patterns to support sustainable city planning, assessing forest and silviculture for health management and wildfire prevention, and observing crop irrigation to enhance agricultural productivity. By offering unprecedented access to real-time and historical thermal data, OroraTech empowers researchers to better understand and address critical environmental challenges.

“Germany has a long-standing tradition of fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge,” added Godela Roßner, Head of Earth Observation at the German Space Agency. “Partnering with OroraTech allows us to provide German scientists and application developers with the high-quality thermal data they need to drive impactful research and explore its innovative value as we build a more sustainable future for all citizens.”
