OroraTech to Integrate Thermal Data to NVIDIA Earth-2 Digital Twin Platform for Extreme Weather Event Prediction
MUNICH (March 20th, 2025) - OroraTech, the global leader in space-based thermal intelligence, is adopting NVIDIA Earth-2 digital twin platform, providing real-time thermal data to enhance extreme weather and climate event predictions. By integrating OroraTech’s satellite-driven insights into Earth-2, researchers, developers, and scientists can leverage high-resolution intelligence to improve global risk assessment and response strategies.
OroraTech operates the largest space-based wildfire thermal detection system, with data sourced from over 27 satellites—including proprietary thermal imaging satellites designed for rapid, real-time fire detection. By making this data available through NVIDIA Earth-2, OroraTech is enabling developers, researchers, and businesses to integrate real-world thermal data into predictive models for climate resilience and disaster response.

“We can help the planet using the thermal data we collect every single day from orbit,” said Julia Gottfriedsen, Head of Data Science & AI at OroraTech. “With NVIDIA Earth-2, developers can now harness our thermal intelligence to build more sophisticated and accurate models, helping societies mitigate the impacts of extreme weather events.”
OroraTech has been leveraging NVIDIA technology since its inception, equipping its satellites with powerful NVIDIA Jetson systems on modules to enable real-time, on-orbit fire detection. These edge computing capabilities allow OroraTech to identify wildfires within minutes on-orbit and transmit critical data to emergency responders in near-real-time latency.
