Between January 6 and 31, 2025, 14 wildfires burned across Los Angeles and San Diego County, destroying over 18,000 structures and forcing 200,000 evacuations. Fueled by drought conditions and hurricane-force Santa Ana winds, the fires burned 57,000 acres and claimed at least 29 lives.
