About the conference

The global conference for wildfire experts is back – and this year, it’s heading to Athens, Greece! On October 8–9, 2025, we’ll bring the discussion to Athens, where OroraTech is building a national satellite wildfire network and opening its local branch. We are honored to welcome the Greek Ministry of Digital Governance as our guest, alongside an outstanding lineup of experts, agencies, and partners.

Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell, Former U.S. Fire Administrator

Dr. Lori Moore-Merrell, a Doctor of Public Health and data scientist, served as U.S. Fire Administrator from 2021 to 2025 after being appointed by President Biden. She co-chaired the Commission on Wildfire Mitigation and Management, delivering 148 recommendations to Congress, and convened global gatherings such as the National Fire Summit and World Fire Congress. A former President and CEO of the International Public Safety Data Institute, she continues to champion innovation, collaboration, and resilience in the fire service worldwide.

Dimitris Bliziotis, Scientific Officer, Earth Observation at Hellenic Space Center

Dimitris Bliziotis is an Earth Observation expert with over a decade of experience in satellite data applications and strategic programme management. As National Programme Manager for Greece’s satellite programme and Scientific Officer at the Hellenic Space Center, he advises the Ministry of Digital Governance and represents Greece in EU and ESA Earth Observation boards. His work bridges technology and policy, delivering innovative EO solutions for security, environment, and emergency response.

Zisoula Ntasiou, Fire Colonel, Hellenic Fire Corps

Zisoula Ntasiou is Fire Colonel in the Hellenic Fire Corps and serves as Chief of Aerial Firefighting Operations at Greece’s National Coordination Center for Operations & Crisis Management. A forestry engineer with over two decades of experience, she also holds leadership roles within CTIF, as Vice President since 2024 and Secretary of the Forest Fires Commission, representing Greece in international forums on aerial firefighting and emergency response.

This year’s International Wildfire Conference takes place at the stunning Dolce Athens Attica Riviera, just outside the city, surrounded by the Athenian coastline. The venue combines modern conference facilities with the charm of Greece’s Riviera, offering the perfect setting for two days of knowledge-sharing, networking, and inspiration.

The International Wildfire Conference is an exclusive, invite-only event. Once your participation is confirmed, you will only be responsible for your travel and accommodation costs – the rest is covered by us. For your convenience, we have reserved a block of rooms at the Dolce Athens Attica Riviera at a reduced rate, available until September 6. Details and booking instructions will be provided once your seat is confirmed.

Icebreaker event: October 7

Start things off with a casual icebreaker evening on October 7. Enjoy some drinks, meet fellow attendees, speakers, and partners, and ease into the conference in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere before the conference begins.

Full conference access: October 8–9

Over the two main days, you’ll have access to all sessions, from keynotes to panels and workshops. It’s your chance to hear fresh insights, share ideas, and connect with wildfire experts from around the world.

 

Lunch buffet: October 8–9

No need to leave the venue to eat, lunch is covered both days. Enjoy a full buffet with plenty of options and take the time to keep conversations going over a good meal.

 

Coffee breaks: October 8–9

Stay fueled throughout the day with regular networking breaks. It’s a great time to grab a coffee, catch your breath, and maybe strike up a conversation with someone new.

Dinner party: October 8

On the evening of October 8, we’ll get together for a relaxed dinner party by the sea. Good food, good company, and the sound of waves in the background, the perfect way to wrap up the first day of the conference.
